FAROS News › Autumn FAROS Vet Clinic: 28-30 November 2008 04/11/2008, 21:19

FAROS Clinic #3
FAROS is very pleased to announce that a team of vets have agreed to leave their own practices and give away their weekend to come to Symi and work voluntarily at the FAROS vet clinic from Friday 28 until Sunday 30 November 2008. It will be the third FAROS clinic in seven months and it will take place in Mavrovouni in Yialos (same place as last time).

University Partnership
The clinic will again operate as the official Symi branch of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Thessaloniki and will be subject to the same standards of veterinary care. The details of all animals treated will become part of the University's treatment records.

Opening Hours
The FAROS clinic will be open daily between 10-2 in the morning and 5:00-8:00 in the evening free of charge for any of the following:
- Check-ups
- Vaccinations
- Neuterings
- General advice
- Minor operations
- Special blood tests
- Ear testing (otoscopy)

Book Early
Even though FAROS will still operate a walk-in clinic, we would like to ask people bringing animals for operations involving general anaesthatic (e.g. neutering), to contact FAROS in advance to make an appointment so that we can organise the clinic more efficiently and make sure we can fit everyone in.

Our Sponsors
Once again, a big thank you to our sponsors, Kalodoukas Holidays which is donating the accommodation for the vets and Symi Tours which is donating boat tickets and transportation.

FAROS Volunteers
FAROS is looking for volunteers to help out during the clinic. If you are on Symi during the vet visit and don't mind spending a few hours either at the clinic or out and about, please contact FAROS on 6945821782 or send us an email.

Please Donate
As always, the vets will offer their service free of charge and the cost of the clinic will be covered exclusively by voluntary donations. In the next couple of weeks FAROS will re-stock the clinic with anaesthetics, antibiotics, vaccines, blood tests and a wide range of consumables and we ask everyone to help us maintain the free FAROS vet clinic all year round by making a donation to the FAROS Symi Animal Fund. You can do so by clicking the DONATE button below. Thank you very much!

Thank you Simon! We now have 3 weeks of hard work, but it's all worth it at the end! And, as always, there will be extensive coverage of what is happening on SymiGreece.com!
