FAROS 5.5: 200 Animals Treated by FAROS 10 July 2009

FAROS 5.4: 42 Degrees and Rising! 9 July 2009

FAROS 5.3: A Busy Day 8 July 2009

FAROS 5.2: Happy Animals and a Difficult Operation 7 July 2009

FAROS 5.1: A Hot Start! 6 July 2009

The fifth FAROS vet clinic will take place from Monday 6 until Friday 10 July 2009. A team of vets from the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Thessaloniki will be coming to Symi to work voluntarily for FAROS. The FAROS clinic will operate as a branch of the University’s own clinic and will be subject to the same standards of veterinary care with details of all animals treated becoming part of the University’s treatment records.
The clinic will take place at Kyriaki Studio in Horio (by Syllogos Square, second house to the left on the road that starts from Rainbow Cafe). The brand-new FAROS poster can now be found all over Symi (and also online!). FAROS has already had many bookings (including neutering of feral cats that residents have said they would bring to FAROS) and it seems the 5th FAROS clinic will be the busiest and most successful so far!
FAROS has already treated over 160 animals, free of charge, ranging from general advice, check-ups and vaccinations, to minor operations, neutering and blood testing. Whether it is your own pet or a stray animal you care for or feed, please bring it to
FAROS.
A big thank you to Kalodoukas Holidays for donating the accommodation for the vets and the clinic, Symi Tours for donating boat tickets and transportation and EFG Design for donating the design and printing of the poster.

Me too, best wishes for the busy days to come. The little black/white kitten - is it the same as in the banners (new friend)?

yes, Marianne, I believe it is. We took those photos of the kitten down in Pedi...the friendliest little thing it is...and when this kitten was brought to the surgery by a lady from Pedi, we were certain it was the same one.
It's been a good 2nd day...one big op, and lots if vaccinations, check-ups, presriptions and advice. Love FAROS!

Looks like you've been really busy guys - nice work!

We have been Kate and the vets are doing a marvelous job despite today's 42 degrees... and the last day of FAROS 5 is expected to be even hotter (we all have a nice tan though!
)

Great work! I wish I could be there helping. The white kitten is just adorable..one-eyed now?
Christos said on 11/07/2009, 01:29
Yes...one-eyed now but he doesn't seem to let that detail bother him too much! One of the vets named him Sparows and he had been the star of FAROS 5. He spent 4 days at the FAROS clinic and we all kissed him goodbye this evening when he had to leave and start his new life as the most adorable(and famous) house-kitten in Horio!
Everyone hopes to see him again when FAROS 6 opens in the autumn...
Marianne said on 11/07/2009, 12:02
Yes, he looks like a real gem
..and such a suiting name. I can see from the pics he has tons of charm..and no problem trusting people.

Little Sparows is indeed adorable.

Hope the poor puddy who had the front leg amputated makes a full recovery.
Well done too all concerned.

Hope Sparrows will be ok with his one eye. I like the little white fluffy dog, he looks a bit like mine
Great work everyone, you've all been very busy
