A meeting took place at the Municipality on Friday 20/4 between the Mayor of Symi, representatives from “Dodekanisos Seaways” and Symi residents about the boat “Panagia Skiadeni”. The Mayor supported by the vast majority of those present said he does not object to the new boat as long as its itineraries do not cause problems for “Proteas” and repeated that the Municipality’s first priority as the main shareholder of ANES is the survival of ANES. The discussion was very intense at times with strong accusations from both sides and the Mayor accusing the company of Mr Spanos of aiming to destroy ANES in order to have a monopoly on Symi. No agreement was reached and the “Panagia Skiadeni” remains suspended. Watch the video
