My SymiChristosAway for Six Hours 10/07/2007, 20:28

The Pride was on time and forty-five minutes later I was walking by the new marina outside the Rhodes old town. It was only meant as a short trip and I already had the return ticket in my pocket for three o'clock.

The Rhodes-day-out was fairly relaxing with early lunch at "The Aktaion" cafe in Madraki, a paying-your-phone-bill-experience at the OTE Shop, a look around the shops in the New Town (was very pleased to discover a brand-new ZARA clothes shop next door to Germanos and Multirama!) and a satisfying 30 mins walk and chat along the moat in the Old Town.

It was a quarter to three when Symi was calling me back...

After a long goodbye and with a stack of Greek papers and a can of Red Bull, I was back on the Pride searching for a place in the sun in the upper deck. A group of girls were already improving their tan when I got there, so I had to compromise with a seat in the middle part of the downstairs air-conditioned cabin!

About thirty minutes in the short crossing and couldn't resist taking yet more videos of a Symi arrival, so here they are!

Walking back home, I stopped at Kantirimi for yet another frappe and to see Stam and Jo off. It was nice having them here the past few days and I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for SymiGreece. Plans (highly secretive of course ) are already underway for the "next big thing" (or two!) to enhance your SymiGreece experience .

Back home now... Eleutheria is loud on the ipod, Metaxa and sprite in the glass and wounded Mikroulis on the couch enjoying the music and sunset.
