Symi Lit with Fires 24 March 2008
It's the eve of one of the biggest days in the Greek calendar. It's Independence Day tomorrow ans the Feast of the Annunciation. This evening hunderds of small fires were lit from Pitini all the way down to Yialos and around to Harani showing the way to the church of the Evaggelistria (which means Annunciation in Greek). A trully spectacular sight!
