Panormitis Day
Today is Panormitis Day, when every year it seems as though the whole population of the Dodecanese Islands descends upon a monastery in a little bay on Symi to celebrate the day of Agios Mihail (Archangel Michael), the patron saint of Symi, and by extension, many other islands in the Area.
If you are called Panormitis, Mihalis, Stamatis, or Aggelos, then all of us at SymiGreece.com wish you "Hronia Polla!"

Mr.C was gracious enough to include ONE video and TWO photographs taken by me among this lot. He tells me my camera just ain't up to the task...I think he's being diplomatic.

Next year, Mr S... there is always next year! I 've already made a note "to entertain Simon" on next year's most important day on the Symi Calendar (other than the Premier of the Symi Festival).
ps. Note #2: Get Will a better camera for Xmas!

It's Panormitis, Sam, a very prominent councilor and a great supporter of SymiGreece! (and it was his nameday too yesterday).
ps. Thank you Welsh Spartan (that's a very cool name BTW!). We certainly plan to carry on for a long long time!

Thanks for all the photos and vids. This looks like a great day. I wish I'd been there for it. So many people! All that food too. Is the band from Symi or Rhodes?

It is the Municipality of Rhodes band that usually comes to Symi on Panormitis Day and also for the parade on the 8th of May.
