"Pride" to start service
on 14th February:
Full Timetable

3 February 2007

SymiGreece has learned today that the catamaran "Dodekanisos Pride", owned by Dodekanisos Seaways will resume its inter-islands service in the Dodekanese on Wednesday 14 February, offering at least a short-term solution to the problem of ferry connections with the island. Specifically, the Minister of the Aegean and Island Policy Mr Aristotelis Pavlidis, has formally approved the application of Dodekanisos Seaways (owned by Mr Giorgos Spanos) to resume the service between 14 February and 31 March 2007. It is not yet clear whether "Pride" will receive any subsidy for the route or not.

SymiGreece has seen the approved timetable and is pleased to be the first to publish it on the web. As can be seen in the tables below, it will now be possible to make a day-trip to Symi every Wednesday and Friday. It is expected that the following timetable will be officially confirmed in the next few days by Dodekanisos Seaways and appear on their website together with online booking.

The news that the "Spanos boats" will be back in service comes only a few days after the angry reaction from the Mayor and people of Symi following the decision by Blue Star Ferries to exlude Symi from the route of the "Diagoras" so leaving the island with no direct connection with Pireaus.
